12th St. Ternan (Tighearnán?) of Culross (5th cent.). Not, apparently, a native of Culross, but believed to have been at some time a monk of Culross Abbey, on the northern shore of the Forth. Believed to have been a native of the Mearns (Aberdeen Breviary).The “Felire Oengus” identifies Ternan with St. Paladius, the first bishop to the Irish.
